As a former judge, a judge pro tem and experienced trial attorney, Janiece Marshall offers a unique perspective and skills in representing clients in both criminal and civil litigation. Ms. Marshall is admitted to practice in California (J1990), Nevada (1992), the United States District Court (1992), the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals (2006) and the United States Supreme Court (2010).
She graduated law school With Distinction, Order of the Coif and as the associate managing editor of the Transnational Lawyer. Janiece earned American Jurisprudence Awards in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Contracts. After earning her Masters of Law in Transnational Business Practice, she worked for a Taiwan law firm negotiating and drafting joint venture agreements and attended the University of Taiwan studying Mandarin Chinese.
Janiece made Nevada her home when she became the first Death Penalty Law Clerk for the United States, District Court, Nevada. She was also the last federal law clerk for the Honorable Roger D. Foley, United States District Court.
Janiece is committed to improving not only our legal system but also the community. The Nevada Supreme Court appointed her to the Nevada Judicial Commission (2011-2016) as well as the Committee on Judicial Ethics and Campaign Practices (2006-2011). She was the President of the Federal Bar Association, Nevada Chapter. Janiece also founded the Retailers Theft Diversion Program in 2015 as well as the Save-the-World Committee to create innovative solutions for problems in the criminal justice system, including reducing the jail population.
Janiece’s leadership in the community has been recognized by the Nevada Army National Guard, awarding her the Paratus Preliator Leadership award in 2014 and by the Vulnerable Road Users Leadership Award in 2016.
Janiece currently hosts Marshall Law on Asian TV and lectures law enforcement recruits on care and custody of prisoners.
